Today we’ are having a walk down memory lane when I stumbled upon a video that caused several older memories to pop up. Keep in mind when BMW used to make M5 wagons? Remember the E61 M5 ? Which was probably the first wagon supercar, among the very few that can wear that name without being accused of false marketing. It certainly was one of the most amazing creations to come out of Munich so when it got in the hands from the crazy people from G-Power, this turned into a monster.
If you recall, the G-Power individuals somehow managed to squeeze not one yet two superchargers inside that currently stuffed engine bay. As you can imagine, the twin-supercharged 5-liter V10 engine may deliver a lot of performance and that’ is what happened here. This was one of the most outrageous project the E61 M5 platform had ever seen.
Mind you, the G-Power individuals also had a single-supercharger kit, however the Hurricane RR is a completely different animal.
The end result showed a power output associated with 820 HP and 790 Nm (582 lb-ft) of torque. With individuals figures, back in the day, nobody might get in front of you on the Autobahn. Since the vehicle is still rear-wheel drive, the velocity figures to 100 km/h (62 mph) when’ the back smashing because putting the power down had been tricky. Still, at 4. Four seconds you can’ not actually call it slow.
What’ s more impressive though is definitely how much further this car can go. As you can see from the footage beneath, it was capable of reaching 360 km/h (224 mph), numbers that are difficult to reach by today’ of supercars. And all of that was done in a truck!
That is an impressive single car and everything appeared as if it meant business. The interior seemed to be overhauled, the steering wheel, the splash, everything. Even the instrument cluster had been changed because the original speedometer halted at 300 km/h while the G-Power one goes up to 400. This was’ not cheap either. This cost € 330, 000 whenever new, a supercar-worthy price tag.
